If you cannot select Sign in with your Autodesk ID or do not see the Let's Get Started screen upon first launching your product, follow the steps below to reset your license method.

Steps to reset your license method:

1. Download the Autodesk Support Licensing Tool. ( Windows | macOS ).

     a. A Linux Version is available without UI in the Autodesk Support Licensing Tool guide.

2. Launch the Autodesk Support Licensing Tool:

Platform Instruction
Windows

1. Open Windows Explorer.

2. Navigate to the folder that the tool has been extracted to and then into the AutodeskLicensingSupportToolUI folder.

3. Double click on AdskLicensingSupportToolUI.exe.

4. Depending on your Windows settings, a User Account Control dialogue may pop up asking to allow the app to make changes to your device.

5. Click the Yes button.

macOS

1. Launch terminal.

2. Change to the directory that contains the tool.

3. Then enter:

sudo ./AdskLicensingSupportToolUI.app/Contents/MacOS/AdskLicensingSupportToolUI

3. Select the desired product from the list of installed products.

4. Select Reset under Select License Method.

5. Click Apply Changes.

6. Review the pop-up and ensure the license method for the selected product was changed.

7. Launch the product - you should then see the Let's Get Started Screen.

yeah, this isn't working for me. i'm trying to reset my trial version because it's been throwing a "there was a problem with the license" error every time i try to log in via autodesk ID (only had the install for a few days, and it's been doing this since the first time i tried to use it). unfortunately, the support tool says that the trial install already has a license method of "none" and thus cannot make any changes. trying to set it to something else and then reset it again doesn't help at all.

Hi @Caldoric,

Does the error message look like the one in this article? If so, there are steps provided for the various causes of this issue - please let me know if you have any success with these steps.

If the error message is different, please can you share a screenshot and I'll investigate further,

All the best,

Yes, that's exactly the error message. I'll look at the resolution steps after I get home from work later, and see what's up. I'll keep you posted on the results thereof.

nope, none of those steps worked whatsoever. still getting the same error message every time i try to start up the program. i'm beginning to grow tired of the issue not being resolved as the available days on my trial continue to be wasted.

also, at one point the instructions you linked to dictate that one must look for "servives.msc", when it should be "services.msc" instead.

How is this still an issue two years later? It's bad when you don't mind paying. This stuff make bad free products look great!

Hi @mwbroussard,

Welcome to the Autodesk Trial Connect Community!

Have you already got a license or a trial of AutoCAD? If so, are you all up and running? If you need to download a trial of AutoCAD, I'd recommend visiting the AutoCAD product page, clicking 'Download free trial' and following the on-screen instructions to get started.

For any installation issues, I'd be happy to help you get up and running, but any further details or screenshots would be helpful in working out what the issue is.

Being optimistic, I hope none of the above applies and you can start learning AutoCAD and exploring the Community. There is Community Central, where you can introduce yourself and network with like-minded people, and there is also the AutoCAD Forums, where you can discuss and ask questions on all things AutoCAD.

If you have any questions, please let me know, and I hope I see you elsewhere in the Community!

Hi @mwbroussard,

I wanted to check in and see if you are up and running with AutoCAD, and whether you need any further help with AutoCAD. If everything is good, I'd be happy to hear it; otherwise, I'd be more than happy to help get you connected to the most relevant help on the Community.

I look forward to hearing from you,

Hi @amedhat1961,

Welcome to the Autodesk Trial Connect Community!

I understand that installing software can sometimes result in error messages or unexpected results. Can you provide any further details on the issue you are experiencing? Unfortunately, loading or installation issues can be caused by a few different things, so further information, such as a screenshot or error message, would help identify the cause of the issue.

I look forward to hearing from you,

Hi @naeemkhan18372,

Welcome to the Autodesk Trial Connect Community!

Can you provide any further details on the error or issue you are seeing? Details such as a screenshot or error message would be incredibly helpful in working out the steps we need to take next.

I'd also like to link you to the Autodesk Education Plan, as eligible students can access renewable 1-year licenses of most Autodesk Software, which is longer than the trial access available.

If you have any further questions on resolving the issue you are seeing or the Autodesk Education Plan, please don't hesitate to let me know.

All the best,

Hi @arkitekto0203,

Welcome to the Autodesk Trial Connect Community!

Which parts of the downloading process for Trials are you finding hard? I can then let the Trial team know, so they can consider changes for future improvements.

If you still need help starting a trial, please visit the Trial Page (https://www.autodesk.com/free-trials), select 'Download free trial' and follow the on-screen instructions. Once you have completed the on-screen instructions, you should be prompted to download, but you can also download from your account (https://manage.autodesk.com/trials).

I hope this helps, and I look forward to hearing from you,
