Error when installing inventor 2024 - Error 82

After installing Inventor 2024, the program won’t launch with the following error ‘Failed to initialize a component for accessing AutoCAD files. Please try again. Error 82.’

I installed process monitor to find what file is missing - see screenshots.

and indeed My Inventor 2025 gave me those error after installation:

Failed to initialize a component for aqccessing AutoCAD files.
Please try again.
Error 16

What was needed was to manually create file:

c:\Users\kleme\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Inventor 2025\RealDWGSettings.xml

And add this content to it:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16" standalone="no" ?>
<RealDWGSettings InstallDirectory="C:\Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\RealDWG Shared 2025"></RealDWGSettings>

wow! i open the notepad, copy paste your code, save code in .xml and put in the file on location, and then i opened the software, IT WORKS! i struggled to figure out this problem for a day. good solution, man! liked 👍

It worked for me too!  I was installing Inventor 2025 and had to adjust the code to read 2025.  way better than a clean uninstall that Autodesk suggested.  THanks!

Funcionou perfeitamente, encontrei o mesmo problema ao instalar o IV2027 troquei apenas de 2024 para 2027 na instrução e fucionol perfeitamente. Parabens
