GPS streaming

Is it possible in the future to be able to send and visualize GPS data ? I know we can only send numerical values in the current times but speaking of Assets and moveable ones like robots that I have seen in Tokyo and I am sure many  companies are using automation in the industry. Moreover this can be helpful in the case of smart cities, smart parking etc..

Also in the construction phase we can use it to monitor the equipment and the location of workers for safety measurements

Hi @m.elmaghrabyQJPNX ,

We have been iterating on the relationship between assets and spaces. As we do so, this will allow Autodesk Tandem to support physical, non-movable assets and assets that “move.” This work is in the planning stages now, with no ETA.

This feedback is excellent. Are you specifically looking for GPS coordinates of a moveable asset to be sent to a digital twin at regular intervals?

Hi @jessica_smith , thank you for your feedback.

the short answer is yes regular interval and also on a constant base. it can be also used whenever needed y the facility manager.

I just had in my mind a robot that I have seen in Tokyo that inspects the surroundings for any suspicious package and I thought that for some reasons it would be beneficial to see where is my robot. Also in R&D facilities it was common to see that type of robots used to guide guests into the building especially in large spaces.

another case is the construction where workers tend to move side by side with trucks too and through cloud computing of AWS they were able to alert the workers in case a tolerance was exceeded between any truck.

Please refer to the attached video for demonstration.

Hi @m.elmaghrabyQJPNX ,

That is very cool! Thank you for sharing that. I have logged this feedback with the product team.

As of today, moving asset location overlaid onto a map is not a functionality we currently have or support. What I would recommend is taking advantage of our Tandem Connect beta. Tandem Connect does allow for numeric data, like GPS coordinates, to be sent to Tandem. That would allow users to select the asset in Tandem and see all the properties, including the GPS coordinates.

Here's the link to join the Tandem Connect Beta. After joining, if you have any questions, please post them to the General Discussions section on that same platform.
