How to create a new section?

Dear all,

I am a newbie here. I would like to ask you how to create a new section or how to insert a new section from Autocad. ( for exe the atttached image).

Is that possible in ASBD?

Regards,

You may find this article helpful.

In ASDB 2016 and 2017 the option is available under the Right Mouse Button

import dxf.PNG

When exactly does this happen? When you select the Import option or when you opening the dwg/dxf file?

Just to make sure I understand what you mean by Insert correctly. Do you mean that you were able to indicate the dxf/dwg file or this happened when you tried to open the dialog to select this file?

Helle ,

I saw  that the post-tensioned concrete is not available in ASBD when using Eurocode+ French Annexe?

Hello

You are right, apparently post tension is available only for British Standards, and for EN codes you can use pre-tension only.

We all hope colleagues from Autodesk will add it soon.

Thanks for your reply,

I am facing a problem

When  defining a beam componant, I used a PC import,  a new section (01. Image) that I created.

An error is non-joining section component. It is why the section is breaked (02. Image)

Please tell me how to fix it.

Hi,

The problem you are experiencing is because the section used to describe the precast beam section in the  prestressed beam module needs to be a single section component rather than a rectangular section with several voids.

It is quite easy to do this but it is easier for me to show you.  I will put together a short video this afternoon and post it here.

Kind regards

Hi,

Here is the video I promised earlier.

Hopefully this explains things a little more clearly.  The reinforcement and tendons need to be inserted in the standard way

Please mark this post as a solution if it provides the answers you want.

Kind regards

What error do you get and when do you get it? Is it when importing a DXF or DWG? If so, can you attach the file to the forum so I can look at it here?
