SketchBook 8.7 Update and lost settings (Brushes/Color Palette)

For users that have updated, your brushes and colors have been reset to default.  To get your settings back, just copy the contents from the 8.0 folder to the 8.7 folder.

Windows:  https://autode.sk/32HPXnO

The folder location is here:  C:\Users\YOUR-USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\SketchBook

NOTE:  AppData is a HIDDEN folder:

Mac:   https://autode.sk/2Cvi12S

The folder location is here:  /Users/*your-user-name*/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/SketchBook

NOTE: Users/*your-user-name*/Library/ is a hidden folder.

Fix did not work for me. I copied the folders in the 8.0 and replaced what was in the 8.7 folder and restarted Sketchbook... still missing my color preferences! Then tried restarting my PC and still didn't fix it!

Unhappy customer here! No update should mess up preferences without warning of consequences to the update!!! When in the middle of a project it has resulted in a lot of lost billable time!!!!!

I have tested the transferring and copying  of the folder files and it should recover your brush and color settings.

a.  I would zip the 8.0 folder files and BACK them up.  That way to don't mess up the copying of the files.

b.  I did a test with a custom brush set and color set.

NOTE:  We are going to release another update: 8.7.1 and it will now use the "8.0" folder.    This means that if you are on 8.6 and you updated to 8.7 and lost settings, you can run 8.7.1 and it will come back because it's using the 8.0 folder.

NOTE:  If you have copied the files from the 8.0 folder to the 8.7 folder, and you upgrade to 8.7.1, nothing should happen if you didn't update any of the brushes or colors.  If you moved them (so basically making the 8.0 folder empty), it will be default again.  This means you need to move the contents of 8.7 folder back to the 8.0 folder.

NOTE:  It's best to backup the 8.0 or 8.7 folder in the future so if you move to a new computer, you just copy the files over and you will have the same settings on 2 computers.

I'm quite dissatisfied with this update. I believe there should be a warning beforehand, regarding the loss of customized brushes and color palette. I lost valuable time worrying over this matter, believing that this program had updated correctly and that only I had trouble with it. I am unhappy about the supposedly better performance of this update , having to fix this ourselves, if it is even solvable. I found instructions on how to recover the information lost, however, it is formated for windows and not Mac. Even with the Mac tutorial, my computer simply does not have the "Library" option, nor can I access it by any means. No information available on what to do in this case, and if there are, I am not a technician, I do not know how to proceed. Hope this mistake gets fixed soon.

Not only have my brushes reset back to default, my Wacom pen and tablet needed to be updated as well. After the update and a restart, the first click on the pen would not function the same way. I have it set to  the space bar keystroke but it will not function the same anymore. I'm going to try the 8.0 file rewrite to see if it fixes the issue.
