I have a wacom cintiq 12wx, which only work with a pen. It does not support touch. But in the latest version of Sketckbook (Free) in Windows 10 it seems to assume I have a touch screen. There are simply things I can't do because of it, like scale text, move my canvas around.
Is there any workaround or older version I can download somewhere so I don't need touch support?
Please use this version of SketchBook: www.sketchbook.com/thankyou
I think you have the Windows Store (for Touch Displays) version.
No, I have the version from https://www.sketchbook.com/thankyou
I re-downloaded and re-installed that version already a few times.
It will start an automatic download for SketchBook_8.7.1.0_Win64.exe for me.
WacomTablet_6.3.40-2.exe for Cintiq 12WX - DTZ-1200 on Windows 10 Professional
Had installed latest driver from https://www.wacom.com/en-us/support/product-support/drivers a week or 2 ago.
I highly doubt the driver version has much to do with it. Unless Autodesk Sketchbook (installer) takes this into account? The latest version of Sketchbook from the /thankyou page seems to assume touch screen support.
I solved the problem it seems. I now got the correct version without need for touch screen up and running.
What did I do?
TL;DR nothing really
Long version:
- Got the installer file I downloaded months ago from my other PC
- Uninstalled SketchBook
- Tried to install with installer, it said there was already a version with this version number installed
- Looked again to uninstall SketchBook, it seemed to be back in my programs
- Uninstalled it again, rebooted PC
- Now installed it again using the older installer file I got from that other PC
- Seems to work fine now
- Checked MD5 hash of both installer files (the one I downloaded on this laptop and the one from my other PC)
- THEY ARE THE SAME -.-'
Must have done something wrong previously but it works as expected now.
