How to move a selection to another layer?

I’ve started drawing multiple objects on one layer, and would like to seperate them into their own individual layers. I can seem to figure out how to do that, I can make a selection and move it around but cannot add it to another layer.

Is it possible to do? Please help!

(I am using Sketchbook free on iPad)

Cut/Copy/Paste into a new layer.  The Cut/Copy/Paste Function is in the Layer Editor - it flies out when you click and hold on the layer you are currently active in.

I'm not seeing the cut and paste option when I hold on the layer I'm working on. When I select the content, I can use ctrl+copy and then ctrl+paste onto the new layer, but then it deletes everything else. Ideas?

You may need to use a selection tool (in the layer that you are going to cut) and then copy it into a new layer.
