How to edit art and shading to make it stand out more?

I was wondering, how do you make your art cooler, in terms of editing and shading? I'm trying to improve my art, and I normally draw art on AutoDesk SketchBook installed on Windows 10 using a mouse.

You need a Wacom tablet....

I would check out the videos noted here to inspire you.   The "Layer editor' will be your friend.
