custom default layer

Is it possible to create a default background layer?  For instance, I would like to have a new drawing start with a preloaded grid as a layer over which I can draw.

Not as far as I know.

But write it down as an idea in the forum.

This might be useful.

1 Set canvas size and resolution as necessary.

2. Create a file with a Grid Template (custom).

3. Save file with a nice description.  i.e. 11x17 +300ppi+grid.tif

4. Set the file to 'read only'.

5. When you open the file in SketchBook, the template will be set.  If you save it, it will ask to save it to a new name.

Thanks.  That's essentially what I did, but didn't think about the read only setting.  Good tip!
