Activation of Students License not working

Hello everyone,

I followed the Instructions on: https://www.autodesk.com/education/free-software/sketchbook-students#  to get e Students license, successfully downloaded the app and followed the Instructions to log in, log out and log in again. Still I don't get the result of access to the students pro version. Could someone help me with this issue ?

Thank you very much

Those downloads don't work for me. Follow these instructions

  • How to activate SketchBook Pro
  • Download SketchBook and log in with your Autodesk education account.
  • Then, log out and log back in to finish activating SketckBook Pro

But I still have "free" version when I log back in. I cannot activate Sketchbook Pro.

How do I get Sketchbook Pro?

I do this, but when I log in it tells me my "90 day pro free trial" is active. What is this 90 day trial coming from? Where is the 3 year one?

Hello @anon485764298474839472897,

Welcome. Please make sure to follow the steps outlined in this post to make sure you have created a educational account, registered & activated properly.

Steps for Setting-Up Student Software

  • If, you are eligible for Educational Software Create an Account
  • Review the Steps for Setting-Up Student Software
  • Your Educational Account will provide you with all the information you will need to download, install & activate directly on the "Free Software" page, you will also receive an email containing your Serial# & product key (note: information will appear in your Autodesk account in 24-48hrs)
  • If you already have Autodesk applications installed you can change the type of license to a student license by Changing License Type or Serial Number

Note: For each product & version you wish to receive in your Autodesk Account visit the  "Free Software" page & select it from the drop-down.

An internet connection is required to activate, every 30days you should be connected to the internet at some point (to verify your license & use the software)

Thank you for posting & let us know how it turns out.

Hi Natasha,

Thanks for posting your answer. I did already see your solution here: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/installation-licensing/steps-for-setting-up-student-software/td-p/682...

But this was not working for me. I did not receive any such serial number and license number in an email. It has been over 4 days.

As soon as I get to this page: https://www.autodesk.com/education/free-software/sketchbook-students

It says "You have obtained access to this product."

Step 3 says: "Now that you’ve obtained the access to SketchBook for Students, please download the app and follow the activation instructions."

https://www.sketchbook.com/thankyou/?utm_source=students this is link for downloading the app. Once I download and open the app, I log in (I tried logging in and logging out twice, as mentioned on the forums), but it still says I only have 87 days left on the app.

Edit: I just got a generic welcome email within 1-2 minutes of signing up with no specific information:

"Congratulations!

<me>, you can now access your profile, product subscriptions, downloads, and updates all with one login. And look, your Autodesk Account comes with promos, free trials, and other cool stuff!"

@natasha.l

I FIGURED IT OUT! Anyone who signed up as a student and keeps getting the "90 day free trial" and has no email with serial numbers and stuff... read below:

Okay, so pretty much, what @natasha.l said about it taking 24-48 hours was the most accurate thing, none of the other advice was helpful, I think the website might be messed up or something. If I had known this sooner, it would have saved me a lot of frustration. You guys need to fix the process, it's currently wrong and gets people with 90 day free trials lmao. Anyway here's how to get your 3 year student trial:

Wait like 2-3 days after you signed up with your student email. Make sure all of your Sketchbook versions are uninstalled, because you don't want unexpected software interactions! Now, go to "account settings" (upper right corner of this page, 4th button from the right on the nav bar). It will take you to a new settings-like page. Click on the "management" button on the nav bar, which takes you to a portal/dashboard type interface.

Aside.... feedback: Your website is incredibly bloated and confusing, way too many things that appear to do the same thing, it's like a nightmare from the 1990s web. Needs a COMPLETE redesign, in the name of simplicity.

In the dashboard interface, you will see a long list of products. If you don't that means you didn't wait long enough (wait 2-3, maybe 4 days after signing up, for some reason it takes very long).

Once you see a long list of products, scroll down until you see "Sketchbook for Enterprise". A modal window will popup, which contains a "downloads" button and your serial and product numbers. Once you click the "downloads" button, THEN you will be able to select the version, OS, and all of that jazz. You will have to disable ADBLOCK and your browser's popup blocker because they made the download proc via a popup lmao. Then, you should be able to start download "Sketchbook for Enterprise" which is around 230MB. Like I said before, your serial and product numbers are in this same modal.

Once you're done downloading, install like normal, then select the option that lets you enter your serial and product numbers, and you're done. In the right corner of the app, you can sign in and  manage your license, it should say 3 years and the "free trial" and "go pro" spam will be gone.
