Are there video card, mouse or resolution settings required to get Simulation to run in Windows 10? When attempting to run simulation, having issues with an occasional black display screen (when scaling, moving, rotating, etc.) and inability to point select lines or nodes. In drawing feature, node selection using mouse pointer does not work.

Computer is Precision 5510 with i7-6820HQ CPU @ 2.70GHz, 16 GB Memory

Hi John,

I suspect that it is an issue with the graphics drivers or OpenGL. Disabling the OpenGL is the easiest thing to try, so see this article: Simulation Mechanicals background is dark, however zooming in and out and the image lightens up and ...

If that fixes the behavior, chances are that the OpenGL rendering is not being performed by the graphics card. There should be a setting somewhere in Windows or the graphic card tools to force software to use the graphics card instead of the generic rendering.

Disabling the OpenGL did seem to correct the situation.  As I'm reading your comments, I now need to change the Window setting to force the use of the graphics card.  I've found an "OpenGL rendering GPU" setting in the graphics card software, under 3D options.  It is set to auto-select: however, has an option to change to "Quadro M1000M"  Is this maybe the change you're recommending?  Or do I go into the program tab settings rather than global settings and make some change specific to Simulation Mechanical? These settings are being found in the NVIDIA control panel.

Thanks for your assistance.

Hi John,

I would think that either of those settings (Quadro or specific to Sim Mech) should work.
