How can the Nastran reported WALLCLOCK TIME ever be greater than the reported TOTAL CPU TIME? My understanding was that wallclock time includes the CPU time plus other time spent reading, writing, waiting, etc. Are the two times distinct and should be added for the total time to run an analysis? Or, is there some other more complicated explanation of what CPU time and wallclock time are?
I'm running a static stress, linear model and my CPU time is reported to be 723.8 sec and my wallclock time is reported to be 538.3 sec.
???
Thanks!
