Alternatives to Autodesk Simulation Mechanical (R.I.P)

I am an advanced user of autodesk simulation mechanical (ASM). And I would greatly appreciate if someone can recommend some software with the same capacity as ASM. I have installed fusion 360 and this software is of poor quality, with low performance and poor functionalities, not suitable for serious mechanical engineering designs.

Hi @Mario_Cerda

Nastran In-CAD has similar analysis capabilities to Sim Mech (linear stress, modal, modal with stress stiffening, frequency response, random vibration, response spectrum, nonlinear static and transient, steady state and transient thermal, ....).

The main difference between the two is that In-CAD is driven entirely by the CAD model. In Sim Mech, you can create elements by hand, repair problem meshes by deleting lines and redrawing, and so on. Such a capability does not exist with In-CAD.

How can I download the latest version 2018 of mrchanical simulation? Definitely I prefer to work with mechanical simulation no matter if it is the last one that autodesk supports

Hi @Anonymous

You should be able to download your software from your account (manage.autodesk.com) or from the Autodesk Virtual Agent (ava.autodesk.com).

If you are still having problems, please specify what are the details of the problem.
