Screencast quality

I usually record al my screencast in native resolution on my iMag, mostly because there is no convenient way to scale Fusion 360 down to a known screen resolution. My almost 6 year old i7 27" Mac has a display resolution of 2560 x 1440 matching the 1440p format.

When wathing the screencast in full scree it's not relly full screen as on YouTube but it's scaled and the actual video quality leaves to be desired.

Here is the same screencast taken with the Screencast tool:

And here with ScreenFlow published to YouTube in 144p with 30fps:

Hi TrippyLighting,

Screencast is recorded at a default resolution of 1280 x 800 and hence, you see some degradation in full screen mode of the video. This is something we have on our list to look into to allow users to record at higher resolution. Thank you for the feedback. We would look into allowing users to record at different resolutions in future.

Thanks,

Hi,

I would like to start using Screencast for tutorial videos to share with work colleagues, and I like the simplicity but dislike the fixed resolution.

Is the higher resolution update something we will see this year (2017)? Just wondering if I should use another software with a higher resolution, or stick with Screencast and wait for the update.

Thanks.

Hi @Anonymous

We do have this request in our backlogs for this and and is in higher priority, but at this time, we don't have a time frame for when we will work on it.

Thanks,

It would be desirable to record at least in full HD 1920x1080 or 1920x1200 (16:10).

Thank you.
