Dear Concerned,
I am trying to compare the pressure values from Robot to the values calculated by international code standard (EUROCODE and ACI) to finally prove that those code overestimate the wind pressure and to prove that CFD is more accurate to capture wind pressure.
I read previous forum answers:
https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/robot-structural-analysis-forum/wind-load-simulation/td-p/5614855
https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/robot-structural-analysis-forum/wind-loads-generation/td-p/5100254
And I read the Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis Professional wind simulator validation brief:
Till now I did not understood which value I should chose for the wind velocity profile.
When I am choosing a wind profile with factor 1, I am getting reasonable values: around 0.8 KPa on the windward wall, and -0.3 KPa on the Leeward wall, at the same time the value calculated by ASCE were very conservative and reach 1.2 KPa on the windward wall.
However, what I notice is that the value calculated by Robot decrease with the building height, which is not logic at all!
I tried many other simulation, by putting a wind profile close to the one of the ASCE
When I changed the wind profile, I am getting very illogical values: 2 KPa for the windward and positive pressure on the Leeward and sidewalls!
Can anyone help me?
@StefanoPasquini6790 @Rafal.Gaweda or others
I really appreciate your help and time!
Sincerely! Wind Pressure velocity factor 1
