Timber design - Does Robot check shear?

Hi

I would like to use timber design i RSA 2012.

I have done a test of a simple beam and compared RSA calculations to our Excel-spredsheets. The calculations in RSA seems to be ok, but I cant find any check for shear in the calculation note.....

Does RSA perform code-control for shear for timber members (columns/beams) ? If not,; why not?  If so, why does it not show on my calculation note?

Thanks in advance

Yes, it does check shear as well as shown on the attached picture. To answer why you don't see this verification I would need to look at your rtd file.

Ok, so RSA does check shear, good:-)

I am now able to make RSA check shear and moment. ( By going to Design--> Timber members design - options --> configuration --> calculation points --> Setting the point with max shear or moment )

But the calculation note for any member applies only to a certain calculation point for that member, and for simple beam under uniform load max shear and zero moment appears in the same point (and vice versa).

For documentation it would be nice to show all code-checks for a member on one calculation note.

Is there any way I can make the calculation note show calculations for both the point with max shear and the point with max moment?

No, currently there is no such possibility however you can run the verification at a given point along a bar or just for shear forces only when you need to provide additional information in addition to the location where the maximal ratio is obtained.

Ok, I understand.

Exactly how does Robot decide wich calculation point that will be used for the calculation note?

I assume that all calculations are done for all points (that I have set in "configurations" for timber design calculations) and the point with the highest efficency ratio for either shear or moment will be showed in the calculation note.

Is this correct?

Exactly. In case the ratio is the same in more than one point the verification from the first point is displayed.
