steel member verification - calculation points

Dear All,

when using the steel design module, you can select the number of calculation points (either evenly distributed or some characteristic points of interest e.g. max bending, etc.).

I have selected 5 calculation points, evenly distributed. Is it correct to assume that Robot will check the steel element in only those five points?

I am a little confused because doing a check on an element it seems it's considering a different section to the ones I have selected (indicated in point/coordinate)? what does this line Point/Coordinate indicate? is it the section that it's driving the design?

Regards,

5 points for each of calculation elements created along the bar. E.g if you have a node defined along a bar the check will be done in 10 points.

Thanks Artur, apart from nodes, which are the other rules for dividing the bar in calculation elements?

I'm guessing each FE is not a calculation element??

Thank you,

You can see how they were created displaying their numbers after model generation.

Thanks again, but I was more interested in rules so I can understand and expect how Robot will divide them rather than doing a visual checks.

Any node (including these which belong to surface elements) or calculation node (e.g at bar intersection) along a bar.
