shell problem - opening in cylinder

Hi All,

I am facing problems in object combinations . I have to insert 2 circular openings and a rectangular opening in the circular wall. I have inserted one circular opening but the remaining openings are not being inserted. The issue its is saying "that the object 2 cannot participate in the object combination". Object 2 is the circular wall into which the opening has to be inserted. I am using double operand Boolean operation - mixed command for object combinations.

Hi @Anonymous

Basing on this forum thread , you have to create big cylinder as 3 parts

Hi Rafal,

Thanks for your response. I have a doubt i.e. cant we insert the openings without breaking the objects as this would increase the time to apply the loads and stiffness to the walls. I have a reference in which 2 openings are inserted in a circular wall. I am attaching the same for your reference. If we can insert 2-3 openings without breaking the walls, it would be of great help to me.

Thanks in advance !!

Ok Rafal . But where is the "advanced" button on that window. I remembered having it in the past but couldn´t find it on 2018 or even on 2017 , 2016 versions.
