Selection without hghlight colour

Is there a way to select objects without highlight colour? Display option "Display attributes only for selected objects" is very powerful tool, when building presentation or document figures, highlight colour of bars make feature unusable for those objects. For example, member legends as coloured option selected and object selection makes all members blue.
