Hi all
When checking Column- note and Beam - note in Provided reinforcement module, why does Calculation options default to Seismic design category SDC A? While Calculation options dialog doesn't have Seismic design category parameter in it?

I have checked it with development.
Actually in ACI 318-14 no special requirement for seismic analysis are used in Robot.
Seismic category SDC a placed in calculation is information only and means that RC beams and RC columns can be design using seismic load cases but no special seismic requirements regarding cover or distributed reinforcement are actually used.
I have found the following comment regarding SDC A (which corresponds to actual Robot design procedure).
"Buildings with an SDC of “A” must be designed for seismic forces, but do not require any special seismic attention"
Basically, this means that Robot Procedure does not include anything related to seismic design for RC members. But at least calculates Required Steel and Shear Diagrams to introduce them in an Excel sheet and design for minimum longitudinal steel, capacity shear steel, confinement and other specific issues. It won't check Column/Beam Strength, and special confinement an shear capacity design for columns. Another improvement highly required for this software.
