RSA Pro 2017- Errors in the file Do you want to see them?

Fairly new user to Robot here. I am trying to create a truss using the Library Structures tool. I then enter the Merge Structure: Triangular Truss Type 1 window (however it does the same thing with all other truss types). I enter all of the necessary information, click OK and then I get an error window saying: "Errors in the file Do you want to see them?" Robot Error.png

If I click on Yes, it opens a text file (see attached), which means nothing to me since I am not much of a programmer. Has anyone else experienced this issue? If so how can it be resolved? Computer is running Windows 10, 64 bit.

As far as  can see you have got corrupted Job Preferences. Please do these steps:

1. In case you haven't got HF2 for RSA 2017 installed do it first

2. Press the indicated button

I followed the steps as you indicated, first installing HF2 for RSA 2017. Once that was completed I ten completed step 2, restoring the inital program settings under the job preferences. I then tried to build the model of the truss using the Library Structure as I explained previously. When I click OK, I get the same error message as before.

Try to delete or rename your CfgUsr folder

C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis Professional 2017\CfgUsr\

I deleted the CfgUsr folder and then tried to construct the model again and received the same error.

If I click on Yes on the error message, it opens a .lib file (I tried to attach it earlier but it is not a supported file type on here) and it says regarding one of the lines of code: "Error:Syntax incorrect - line ignored" However it does not direct me to a specific line of code. Im not sure if this helps or not, but I am trying to give you as much information as I can.

There are two possible reasons I can thin of for US settings in Preferences:

1. Issue with materials - missing STEEL material name

2. Issue with sections - US section database not declared in Job Preferences

Could you:

1. Define one bar element > save the rtd file

2. Make screen captures with Materials and Section databases settings in ob Preferences

3. Attach both the rtd file and pictures

Hi @jmusopole

I assume you tried to open one of the library structures. If so, what is Robot language and material database you set?

I was inserting a truss (I modelled) into a building model.

The program is set to Great Britain.

Hi @jmusopole

Assuming the language is set to English make sure that:

1. You have a material named Steel in your default material database

2. Check what are the sections proposed for a truss and change them to the ones from the database you have set in job preferences if required

Arthur

Seems like my feedback did not get through. My language is set to English (Great Britain). After changing the material to STEEL I still got the error. Maybe I have lost it on the last part I.e. sections.

Hello,

I got the same error message when I want to insert a structure from the library.

I already deleted the rmat0xx files.

Here are the screen captures of the preferences and the job preferences.

Hi @Anonymous

I can't see any issue with the settings as on your pictures. What section databases do you have declared?

section databases.PNG

Which library structure did you select?
