Rotating Local Axis to Extract Moments - Tubular Joint checks to Norsok

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to perform a tubular joint check according to Norsok N-004. Therefore, I'm need to extract moments in a chord (members 103 and 104) and a brace (member 27). However, my brace is at an inclined angle to the chord.

Is it possible to rotate the local coordinate systems in the chord members as shown in the diagram below? This is because I want the chord's My moments to be in the same orientation as the brace's Mz moments

Thanks,

hi @jhe55NCY

there's a way by programming

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/robot-structural-analysis-forum/local-reactions-api/m-p/3793681#M1121...

in that case the macro transform forces from secondary beams as reactions in global axis but you can modify it to invert to main beam local axis. (collision plane)

Or you can use the Gamma angle orientation to a node

Indicate the upper node of the brace.
