That models and buildings are stunning. I recently graduated and  took a job as estructural engineer, the company uses Staad for modeling which is fine for me because i learned in the university, but in recent days we took a basic training in RSA and im in love with this software. I will show this amazing post to my boss to show him what amazing things are modeling and building around the world with this software.

Happy new year Smiley Very Happy

to be fair , show him also the threads

and

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/robot-structural-analysis-forum/respect-our-mind/td-p/7635430

Talking about that  ,I find it very unfair from Autodesk side to advertise RSA as a "marvelous of the software/BIM world" using this thread on Bim and beam blog ( http://blogs.autodesk.com/bim-and-beam/2017/09/12/robot-structural-analysis-in-autodesk-aec-collecti... ) and at the same time not listenning to any of our requests on the above " save our RSA" threads.

Hi everybody,

here comes another project that I've done in Robot some years ago, it's a mixed use tower located in Oran, Algerie.

It's a 23 off-groud tower with 6 undergroud levels of parking. I used Robot with several APIs to run all the analysis, specially SpiderPro by @Romanich, CFT for Robot by myself (for the correct design of concrete fillet tubular according to Eurocode 4) and other APIs from forum.

The most interesting analysis was done for wind analysis for Robot, in comparison with the local regulation loads.

HI @shefypattambi

When I've done this project (2015), I was using ASD, now I made my detailing process using Advance Steel, with much more productivity then ASD.

Best regards

Hello Mustafa,

Impressive!!! I don't remember seeing a mathematical model of such complexity. Best wishes for the development of that amazing project.

A Little offtop. Sorry. A question to those, who graduated in last 10 years and not from ex-USSR countries. Poland - ok. Did you have to make project for any course by hand? Hand-written calculation note, detailing by pencil, etc, etc. Did you have to use manual methods (force method, displacement method) besides very basic structural mechanics classes? In my university even AutoCad is strictly forbidden until 5th year of study without exceptions. I find this practice crazy, and want to know how are things in other parts of the world.

hello @Anonymous

you know there two sides of every coin, same is the case with you

If you know the manual process every thing which you want to use a software, you will be a great professional

and that needs time, you may feel that education system is your country might be holding you back, but I guess they want you to be an excellent Professional with deep understanding.....

although everyone has his own perspective, and you also have your own

but I want to advise you that "Give your 100%, you won't regret"

and no one is stopping you from learning online I guess ?? if so

then please use "academy.autodesk.com"

I myself has learned a lot from there, Good Luck

I don't think that force method or Maxwell Cremona diagram have any value besides historical. Or skill of structural detailing without using a computer or without using excel to define loads.

Hi @Anonymous

You are right my friend. For that I want to share with you my experience in this field.

My university same yours and we didn't learn from it only the theoretical issue . But in my 4th year I had started to learn RSA at that time to prepare for graduation project without advice from anyone.  With applying structural mechanics on RSA I had started to understand the software correctly .

Then step by step I started to earn more knowledge . Then I did my graduation project with RSA .I was Amazing job and I got mark 97 .

Dont focus on what you get in your university only and try to learn and we will support you my friend.
