Problem with Extremas with cincomintants

Well,

request is simple and not unusual.

For several similar columns and lot of ULS+ACC code combinations it is necessary to provide

ENVELOPE WITH CONCOMINTANTS

but

ONLY AT BOTTOM END OF COLUMN

(to provide connections for example)

FOR ALL COLUMNS AND ALL CODE COMBINATIONS

In RSAPRO2017 such request resulting in such screen

Screenshot 2016-06-28 12.38.23.jpg

I am sure that this problem was not present in some of previous versions of RSAPRO

Situations with 2, 3...12 points work fine. Also with default characteristic points (when RSAPRO itself define points)...

???

Sincerely, Gliga

It is model independent problem (I already check) and model is Huge, but OK

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/20766887/Model.zip

Select bars by section (HCHS 406.4x10), select "Code combinations"

"tables"

"forces"

"table filtered to current selection"

"Envelope",

"Table columns",

"Envelope"

"For all objects"

"Points"

"Characteristic points"

(delete all automatic generated points)

"x=0" (relative)

"Add"

"OK"

This should give Envelopes with concomitants for ALL bars AND only for bottom ends of the bars (columns) - totally 12 rows of data.

Thanks,

Yes, it work - but is not correct

In such results END POINTS exist too (you can check by yourself on same model) - it seems that such selection JUST ADD THAT POINT to beginning and end ones. As a matter affect it seems that you can not exclude START and END points in such selection.

So you can not trust to results until something like "x=0" appear in table, in all rows.

Sincerely

Try this macro (it works for one selected node so you need to use it several times to extract all results you need):
http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/robot-structural-analysis/envelope-of-forces-at-a-connection-api/m-p/3...

Feel free to modify this macro according to your needs.

Yes, indeed you are right. This option adds an additional point to origin and end ones so the result is not the one you'd like to see Smiley Sad

Hi @gliga

I'm not able to answer if or when as we don't have such knowledge but I can promise that we will post this information when this has been done.
