Originally it’s Revit, but the pic from an inserted dwg file into sketchup. Just did that In order to present the case better. Do you have any answer to my question ?
Clear the dwg file leaving only the bars centerlines . Save it as dxf or dwg.
Open the saved dxf file in Robot. A popup window will show up , set it to make the autocad lines to become bars/members . In the next window adjust the scale (if your dwg drawing is on cm and Robot is in meters , then scale should be 0,01).
If your dwg was made accurately then you will have also an accurate RSA bar model.
PS: if you have a good analytical model in REVIT ,then it is easier to import it into Robot

So, there are 3 solutions:
1. To model the nodes in 3D space using the 3d coordinations, and to build the Robot model using these nodes.
2. To have a clear file of a simlified 3d dwg/dxf model (bars/columns/ beams/walls centrelines), then opening the dwg/dxf file in Robot. In the next popup window to set it to make the autocad lines to become members (or others if the model isn't a simplified) . After defining the scale and the insertion point (minding the conversion from cm a to meters (scale should be 0,01). Accuray of RSA bar models completely subject to the Dog/Dxf model.
3. The third way easiest way where sending a good analytical model in REVIT (without errors) to Robot, might be the most recommended
hi @londonZ7F92
I see that the tube elements are not in the same plane and that the plates have edges, it is perhaps preferable to start from a plate with openings and to extrude it. Here is an example of implementation.
ExtrudeLines program could be found here
