Geodesic dome - Loads

Hello,

I’ve created a geodesic dome in Robot Structural Analysis and have used shell elements to represent the panels. However, when I apply surface loads to these panels, the load appears to be displayed only along the edges of each panel.

Is this the expected behavior? Does this indicate that the load is actually being applied across the entire surface of the panel, despite the display issue?

Any insights or suggestions on how to ensure that the surface load is uniformly distributed across the entire panel would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Yes ,that is the correct visualization for uniform load on a panel

just goto reactions table and check the total vertical load applied to confirm it

hi @nciglar

I'd like to take this opportunity to mention that it is possible to create spheres and spherical domes by adjusting the coordinates of finite elements, just as it is possible to model bumped panels.
