Division of curtain wall or cladding between stories & transf. lines to bars

Greetings to all

All I want to do is create bars  at the intersections shown and labeled in the attached image.

In order to do this I have downloaded the the addin that lets you create lines between intersecting panels, and now I'm trying to convert these lines to bars (there's an addin for the opposite).

Added to that, is there any way to divide this vertical triangular wall into pieces, each piece for each storey, than by just drawing it piece by piece in the first place.

If i'm able to divide this wall into pieces (each piece for its own storey), then I can use the addin that lets you generate bars under curtain walls.

Here is the link to the model

Thank you

Thank you for your time.

1- Line into bar - Right click on the line ,click on "object properties" down below , click on parameters and mark "create bars" . Apply

2- split triangular panel into pieces - use Edit/Cut by plane... and choose "Split objects"

Thanks for your reply

Regarding using the Cut by Plane tool, I can do so, but it will be too much time consuming when i have say 70 or 80 stories, "Split Objects" requires inserting the XY elevation manually for each storey in order to cut the whole triangle to pieces, each piece for its corresponding storey. Here in my case i have 5 stories of 4 m height (20 m in total), meaning that I have to use Cut by Plane (Split Objects) at 4,8,12, and 16 m in order to split the triangle the way I want it.

Also, can you convert multiple lines to bars at once, or i should do it for every single line?

Add to the wish/idea list.

Panel cut by multiple planes at once

Not that I know.

Probably someone ( @Rafal.Gaweda  ?) Can rapidly write an addin doing that

HI @Anonymous

Besides addin to convert lines to bars which can be written 🙂

take a look at : https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/robot-structural-analysis-forum/api-addin-for-intersection-panels-wit...

But I would do it this way:

Thank you for your quick response Mr. Rafal.

I have tried doing so, but this a very simplified model that I've done only to clearly illustrate by problem.

In the real model that I'm working on, the triangular curtain wall is to go through 73 floors, in which case I have to generate 73*2 nodes (using the Cut-by-Plane tool) and draw 73 beams manually.

That is why I have downloaded an addin that automatically generates geometrical lines at these intersections between the wall and the floors, but now I want to transform the 73 generated geometrical lines into bars at once.
