I have modelled a solid rectangular section into 150x10mm flat plate as my cross bracing.

How do I ensure they carry tension only axial load in steel analysis and design?

Hi Arthur,

I declared the flat plates tension only. I ran the calcs and the report is full of Type 1 instability in several nodes. why?

Note all the beams and bracings are modelled pinned-pinned and all the columns releases are left N/A(shell design)
