Surface development of truncated con

Hi,

How I can make or generate a cone surface or a truncated pyramid?

I have a pole and I want to find out the dimensions of the steel plate to make that pole.1.JPG

Maybe this can help https://library.vuforia.com/articles/Solution/Cylinder-Targets-Guide

At least for calculating the dimensions of the plate that wraps around to form the truncated cone.

Hi, mihaela.maftei,

I'm Judy from Revit Support, and I see you're looking for way to make a truncated cone in Revit. You can use the Revolve tool to create that shape. The Revit Help page called Create a Revolve will show you how to do this.

Please let me know if this helps!

Hi,

I would like to know how to create surface development of truncated con, if I already have truncated con. If it is possible to generate automatically, I'm currently drawing with the Detail Lines, I need to know the dimensions of the steel plate from which the truncated con will be made to send it to the factory.

You can manually compute the size of the unfolded sheet by using the instructions in the link i shared above (towards the end of the article).

You can also do it in Inventor
