Hi Mikael,

Did you use the precast templates or started from a template of your own? If you start from an empty template you should first initiate Configuration to load all the families needed for our add-on, make all necessary adjustment and after that press okay command. Pressing the Okay command is very important, because otherwise the loading of families will be done once again until you acknowledged the loading by pressing the Okay button.

The precast add-on work only with structural elements (e.g. structural walls, structural floors);

By using the Ssplit command you will obtain precast assemblies which can be afterward reinforced using the Reinforcement command.

At the end of Split or Reinforcement command you will be able to use the shop drawing command.

You can also create manual assemblies to use the shop drawing command. The main requirement is that inside the assembly the part is included in the assembly,

Additional information can be found here: http://help.autodesk.com/view/RVT/2018/ENU/?guid=GUID-3AA696FA-8CE6-43CC-AB60-D0BC305351EC

Let me know if you need additional information.

Kind regards,

Hello Sir,

I want to create my own view in structural precast element. Currently it is showing side view from X direction. I want to get one more side view from -X direction. How can I do it? I tried to change  viewport.rfa but couldn't save it. Then I renamed file  as viewport2.rfa. This time it generated drawing sheet but it was blank.

Dear @Anonymous,

Go to the your titleblock (it should be located here C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Structural Precast for Revit 2018\Families\en\Title Blocks). Open the title-block you will be using in the configuration menu, select the sideview and copy it where you need it. Select the copy and in the properties palette, under viewing direction, type '-X'.

Let me know if you need additional information.

I followed your way before posting on forum. I tried one more time after your reply. But look as the screen-shot. It is generating identical side views for +X and -X which shouldn't be in this case.

Hi @Anonymous,

Could you please add to your assembly a mounting part on one of the front/back face of the wall. Afterward, use the mounting parts command to add the mounting part into the assembly, and recreate the shop drawing. There you will see that the view are created accordingly.

Kind regards,

Can I overwrite Viewport.rfa and Schedule.rfa? I want to get material schedule like this :- Capture.JPG

Currently precast add-in is not showing description (i.e. third column). I opened Schedule.rfa and I would also like to know (if you can give some links or video tutorials) how to write formulas in family type window and how to make custom lookup tables for precast add-in.

Hi @Anonymous,

All the schedule are found in Schedule Templates.rte. Here you can define and change any template according to your needs. If you also want description, you just need to add this in the schedule template you want to use.

Here is a link on how to use formulas: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit-products/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2017/ENU/Revit-Model/files/GUID-BA812528-8000-44A5-B53F-137B3F642107-htm.html

Gere is a link on how to manage lookup tables: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/search-result/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2016/ENU/RevitLT-Customize/files/GUID-ABF523B6-A209-4A62-AA4E-14DAB98AA209-htm.html

I ran into a problem using Structural Precast Extension for Revit. It impeded with Generic Models I was trying to update fields for. I am attaching few snippet from the Journal in the hope the development team will look into it.

The behavior was, I tried to change parameters in my Generic model family and it wouldn't change. I noticed the lines after the selection command was completed. The Generic model has structural framing family nested.

After I uninstalled the extension the family behavior was restored to normal.

Hi @Rab_i,

Another user has added this here: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-ideas/structural-precast-update/idc-p/7920512#M19619

You can add the relevant details inside this idea.

Kind regards,

When I use the tool to split floor, the floor always been split horizontal.

How can I split the floor vertically?

Thanks.

Hi @lzhhpeng,

In order to have the segmentation on the other direction you need to change the spanning direction of the floor. Select the floor to edit the boundary and change the spanning direction on the other way.

Hi, Teodorb

Thank you for reply, now I know it.

Maybe you have a forum for precast extension, I have lots of questions.

Can I use shop drawing function in the extension for my precast stair? It's generic model. I create part and assembly for it, but when I try to generate shop drawing an error come up.error.png

It will be long time before I can make it work for me, but I believe it's worth to try.

Thank you for help.

Another question for you, Teodorb.

Schedule Templates.rte, this file is read only on my computer. Do you think I can save it as a different file and let Revit use my file? - Thanks.
