Revit Cold-Formed Steel Sections

Is there anywhere I can find standard framing families for all SSMA cold-formed steel sections? Need framing families (particularly Z-sections) for purlins and girts as well as more detailed S sections and and F sections. Everything in Revit OOTB is very limited and does not have the appropriate sizes. Not interested in any extensions or add-ons (paid or otherwise).

 These sections and sizes can be adjusted in Revit.

Apply Section Shape Parameters to Framing Elements

Cold-formed Steel Section Shape Dimensions

I’m sure some Revit users have gone through this process and saved a template that includes these. Not sure if anyone here has such a template they’re at liberty to share(?)

Another possibility is using Advance Steel in conjunction with Revit. This is included with the AEC Collection subscription.

There are many Autodesk University free online presentations on that topic: Revit and Advance Steel search.

Thank you Mr. Stewart, I appreciate the help. I was hoping to find the easy way out instead of modifying the existing families to create these shapes myself. Its not that difficult, but it does take a good bit of time.

Hello,

I'm also interested in adding this type of section in Revit, but I haven’t been able to do it following the instructions in the provided links.
Let me explain what I did:

- I added a beam;

- Opened the structural framing family in the Family Editor and changed the Section Shape;

- Opened the Properties panel → Family Types.

At this point, I expected to find the parameters related to the new Section Shape under the "Dimensions" category, but the parameters shown are still from the previous section type.

However, further down in the same window, I do see the parameters for the new Section Shape.

After clicking Apply and OK, nothing changes.

I’d like to know the correct way to proceed.

Thank you.
