Reference plans in beams

Hello!

My question regards the reference plans in the model family for concrete beam: I would like to know what's the point of the parameters under the "other" group in the properties menu, on the left of the print attached. Appearently there's a connection between them and the reference plans that come with the metric beam that I have used as a base to model my concrete beam family, and I don't know what that connection is and what's used for.

PS: the Revit language is set in french because I work in a french company. The reference plan selected in the print attached is the one named as "right".

Thank you for your attention,

Best regards

the reference plane left & right will give you total length of beam & other member left & right will perhaps give a cut length. thanks
