Rebars count by lenght in Schedule

Hi All,

Hi @ovidiu_paunescu

In my project I want to count variable rebars's set these have a same number and length and group them in a single line in the schedule, as shown in the picture bellow

table_armatures.PNG

In my example bellow, I want put in schedule for rebars:

number 12:  (by element =10 ; elements = 1; Total elements = 10)

 number 13:  (by element =10 ; elements = 1; Total elements = 10)

rebars_schedule.PNG

How can I do that?

Thanks.

You need to make a shared parameter which needs to be applied to both your project AND your rebar family. That's how it links to the family parameter and the project parameters.

Only if you need to tag the rebars.  If it is only for scheduling then No, you don't need a shared parameter in the families.

I think the error lies in the fact he's trying to mix a text parameter (=comments) with a length parameter (=spacing) and as a type he asks for a distance. The "comments" reference is fault as this is not a distance, but a text.

The error won't be fixed until all the parameters you're trying to mix result in either "text" or either "distance".

For example: You could make a shared parameter as a distance which states "Spacing 2.00" and add this to your project and replace the "comments" parameter in your formula with this shared parameter.

Correct.  That's why I suggested to create a Length parameter for the formula instead of Comments.  For that purpose, a shared parameter is not necessary.

Excuse me, I completely overlooked your reply in previous page. You are correct 🙂

Firstly, I remind you that this is my first project on REVIT and I always learn new things by butting on a problem and then discovering possible solutions and that’s thanks to you, so thank you again.

It is true as said semi my error lie in the fact that I try to integrate two different parameters in the same formula and it is logical that REVIT tells me an error...now hearing you talking about a shared parameter in the project allowing me solving my issue I have just understood a little but not enough how to doing it and it would be nice if you explain

me more.

another question to ToanDN:

Why do not choosing a distance instead length under type of parameter, since my problem is a spacing (see image bellow)?

spacing2.PNG

and if I understood correctly as you say it is not necessary to define a shared parameter for the moment since I try to integrate my parameter only in the schedule (that’s what I’m looking for)?

And if I define a new parameter, I'll find it under rebars proprieties that allowing me to give it a value that will be read directly in the schedule or else it is necessary to create a new formula in the schedule to display it?

Thanks.

You can use Distance instead of Length to create the parameter.

New parameter will show in Properties and will be available to add to a schedule.

Hi @ToanDN @semi @ovidiu_paunescu

I'd like to modify my schedule header to be able to display rebars count detail as the image bellow, but I can't insert a line in the header, so how can I do that?

Thanks.

Select 2 columns and group them together:

Hi again @ToanDN @ovidiu_paunescu

I still have one more issue left to get done with my schedule

I want to introduce a new parameter or (sharing parameter) in my rebars family to calculate an average length of my variable rebars's lengths in the set using existing rebars's instance parameter (in my case "a" or total length) to display it in the schedule (I dont want that the length field for rebars with variable length to be empty)...see images bellow

table_70.PNG

So how can I do that?

Thanks.

See Revit 2002 file and study the schedule parameters:

No I can't convert from 2022 to 2021. Download Revit 2022 to open it.

You just can't revert back between versions, autodesk Revit can't do that. You can only upgrade from lower to higher version, never downgrade, no one can. It's not AutoCAD.
Revit is simply not backward compatible.
It's also quiet logical. There was once probably a revit version that introduced rebars to the software.
How would one back in the day revert a revit model with reinforcements to a revit version which doesn't support reinforcements?

That’s good .... I was going to ask you to do me a favor and convert the file in 2021 please !!
I can not download and install the 2022 version...it takes me several days because of my bad connection

Please convert it for me and I’ll be very grateful

Thanks.

Sorry again Toan...

I know this is inconvenient for you and I should install REVIT 2022 ..but as I explained to you I am in Algeria and the connection here is very bad these last days and it takes me several days to download a file of over 3GB...so excuse me again for this inconvenient and do a favor for me to revert the file in 2021 and I will be very grateful to you.

Thank you.

Understandable. I will send a 2019 file when I get to the office.
