"Create new local" checked, Worksharing Monitor still shows user as working in central file

For some users, when working on a central file and opening project with "create new local" box checked, Revit appears to still open the central model.

Reason for my diagnosis: Using Worksharing Monitor (WSM), the users are shown as "Working in Central", and only after File >> Save as to their C: drive, and ensuring "Make central after save" is not checked does WSM show they are working in a local file.

It has caused many issues with needing to save a new central file and reopen the project because synchronisation has been broken.

Has anyone else experienced this and found a solution?

I would try having your users use command "Relinquish All Mine" command, do a Sync with Central then exit the model. This command is in the Collaborate tab in the Synchronize panel.

Also, check to make sure there are no issues with your network itself. Performing an Audit at least once a week would be good too.

When doing a Sync with Central double check the address of the model to make sure it is on your network.
