Mapping system parameters to IFC

Mapping system parameters to IFC

Hello, colleagues!

There is a question about data types in users mapping parametrs to IFC file.

We need to map parameters like revit id, thickness, base ofset and other system params to original Pset in IFC 2x3 from revit project.

No problem to map shared parameters with data type text or real. But system parameters...

Maybe there is a list of all system parameters and data types in network? I cant find this information.

We think mapping to ifc is only way to rename parameter for Owner of model in nwd. Maybe you get another solution for how to rename parameter from one language to another to original params tab in Navisworks?

Thank you for response!

Alex

Hi!

Using User Defined Parameter Sets is the best and maybe the only way to rename the parameters for IFC as far as I know. The supported datatypes can be found from text template provided with revit installation.

Data types supported:

Area, Boolean, ClassificationReference, ColorTemperature, Count, Currency, ElectricalCurrent, ElectricalEfficacy, ElectricalVoltage, Force, Frequency, Identifier, Illuminance, Integer, Label, Length, LinearVelocity, Logical, LuminousFlux, LuminousIntensity, NormalisedRatio, MassDensity, PlaneAngle, PositiveLength, PositivePlaneAngle, PositiveRatio, Power, Pressure, Ratio, Real, Text, ThermalTransmittance, ThermodynamicTemperature, Volume, VolumetricFlowRate

Thanks a lot for your answer!

May be there is a document, where all system parameters listed with their data types (ID - Identifier, for example (i cant understand what data type id have))? Or one way to map these sys parameters - dynamo script to copy system parameters to shared parameters with text data type, and then do mapping?
