How to insert IPE frame vertically like columns?

I need to insert an IPE structural framing, however it looks like it can only be places on XY plane, while I want it to be Z (like inserting column on Architecture). Tried to insert it from Elevation view but not possible. Any help?

Thanks, it works. For some reasons it didn't accept it in the beggining.
