I made a Pile, the I made a Pile Cap.
So I want this Pile Inside this pile cap, but when I put the pile inside the pile cap, the pile just got cut bellow the pile cap, what to do to make the pile inside the pile cap? so the volume of the pile cap is :
pile cap volume - pile volume inside the pile cap
thanks

sure, so I have this pile, the length is 18 m, and this pile is inside the pile cap ( the box ) for 50 cm,
but when I put the pile inside the pile cap ( the box ) this pile automatically cut, so the length become 17.5 m
what I want is the length of the pile still 18 m with 0.5 m inside the box, and I want the volume of the pile cap with the pile inside.

Hi @Anonymous ,

Revit will automatically join the pile cap and the pile inside the pile cap since both the pile and pile cap material are same. To avoid you can use some workaround as follows.

Option 1)in the pile family select the "material for model behavior" option from instance property of pile as either "Precast" or "Other" it will prevent joining of pile with  the pile cap. in order to work this option you should provide separate structural material parameter for pile and pile cap. but i did not prefer this option

Option 2) Create void extrusion inside the pile cap family and lock the bottom of the void extrusion to the bottom face of the pile cap and top of the void extrusion to the top of the pile. so it will automatically adjust the height based on the pile embedment length. next you cut this void with pile cap geometry inside your family and load into your project. this should be resolve your problem.
