Graphical Column Schedule not Visible in View

Hello,

I am working on a high rise project and I am using Revit 2018.3 for BIM. I am trying to create a set of sheets on which to show the column schedule but the schedule keeps disappearing from the viewport (i.e. view is completely empty). The schedule is however visible when I access it through the View>Schedules>Graphical Column Schedule option and the columns are definitely modeled.

I have checked whether the issue might be caused by visibility settings but it appears not to be the case as all necessary worksets are loaded and turned on, as well as the categories and subcategories. The elements are also not hidden in view.

In the past, the problem was solved simply by turning on and then off the "Reveal Hidden Elements" mode which may indicate that the issue is caused by a bug. However this time, that approach no longer seems to work.

Therefore, I was wondering if anyone had the same issue and if so, how were you able to solve it?

Thank you!

Hi, bogdan.demian,

Thanks for being part of the Revit Forum community! I saw your post and will be happy to try to help you out. As I understand it, the graphical column schedule itself looks fine, but it disappears when it's on a sheet. There are a couple of things that come to mind that would be good to check out as a first pass. Sometimes odd behavior like this in Revit happens when the temp folder has accumulated a lot of files. Here are a few steps you can take to clear the temp folder and also Revit's memory, as well as audit the model, to see if that will make a difference:

  1. If you are currently working in Revit, sync, relinquish and close all sessions of Revit.
  2. Empty your temp folder:
    1. In the Windows search box, type %temp%. This will open the temp folder. Select all and delete everything in the folder, but not the folder itself. Skip any items that can't be deleted.
  3. Open My Documents (or wherever your local models are kept on your computer) and delete the local model, as well as the backup folder of the same name (it will have the word backup at the end of the name).
  4. Empty your trash.
  5. Reboot your computer.
  6. Create a new local with the Audit box checked (it’s at the lower left of the Open dialog).

Please let me know if this helps.

It's also possible that there's some corruption in the graphical column schedule itself, or in the sheet that it's on, so if the above steps don't help, you might try making a new graphical column schedule (don't duplicate the existing one, as that will also duplicate any problems it may have!) or a new sheet, and see if that solves the problem.

Let me know what you find out. Looking forward to hearing from you!

Best,
