Detail view, control view range

I have a building which I created a section along Grid A to show the framing.

Then I created a Detail View from that Grid A Section.

I want to change the View Range of the detail view so that I only see the column web with the 2 beams framing into the web, I don't want to see the column flanges.

How can I change the view to not see the flanges, I don't want to really hide the column and then draw in lines.

Hi Aaron,

In the properties of the detail view can you go to View Range and edit it from there?

when creating the detail view/callout, make sure you change the type in the properties panel to floor plan and not detail view. You don't get the view range option for detail view, only far clip offset settings.

If you are taking your details from a building/wall section that was cut from a plan, make sure that in the detail in properties, under "extents" you have "far clip settings" set to "independent" Then you can adjust your far clip offset to be shallower or deeper then what the section is set to. I have attached a couple screen grabs and a quick video.

Let me know if you have any questions.
