Creating Custom Precast Reinforcement (Revit2018 Precast Tool)

Dear Users,

After using the Precast tool for awhile, I noticed this tool is useful to model rebars that are equally offset.

Please educate me if there is a way to custom rebar settings so that in one precast wall, there exists different offset and number of rebars. In other words, within the same precast wall, one area has denser rebar configuration, while other area has lighter rebar configuration.

Best Regards

Hi @Anonymous,

In configuration you can define as many reinforcement styles as you like. For your specific case, you should go to Configuration - Wall - Solid Wall - Reinforcement, and type a name in the blank cell and press edit to edit you reinforcement.

For each style you have the ability to define as much as 6 layers of reinforcement. In order to add another layer, simply pres the plus sign from top right.

By using the setting you can define the reinforcement to match you needs.

Kind regards,

Hi @teodorb,

Thank you for the information.

I will look more in-depth based on your comments. I may have more detailed questions in the future if you don't mind.

Hi @teodorb,

Is there a way to model reinforcement from Precast tool without splitting the wall?

I'm struggling to adjust min. & max. wall length & height to match my drawing dimensions.

Best Regards

Hi @Anonymous,

The reinforcement can be added only after you have performed the split command. You can still add the reinforcement manually or through Dynamo. After this make sure to add it to the assembly or by using the Mounting Parts command.  The reinforcement will show in schedules and shop drawing.

Kind regards,
