Same section number on different sheets

Hi

I am scheduling 4 different elements (Base, Column, Primary and Secondary Beam) on Revit and each element has between 3 and 7 different types, each having their own schedule and sheet.

Along with the schedule, I would like to have section and elevation views of each type of element.

Is it possible to have the same section numbers on different sheets some how?

ie. I want to have my section numbers starting from 1 for each sheet. (Note: the sections are not the same).

Renaming the sections gives me an error and says that Revit cannot duplicate section names.

Duplicate views as dependents.

Thank you for the response, this is a helpful trick, but I still cannot rename the section with a duplicate name.

At the moment, I have 3 different sheets with three separate schedules for a base, column and a beam.

Each element has 2 sections and I would like each sheet to have sections named Section 1 and Section 2 only, and not Section 45, 46 and 206 and then come back after a revision and have Section 301. Is there a way around this?

The view names should be different, but you can type in the same name for them in the Name display on sheet field, right below the view name. Then they will show on sheets with the same name.

Hi

Thank you for the response, I see that changing the view name allows me to have the same section names on different sheets, but now my detail numbers in the Section Tags on the floor plans do not match the Section names? I also cannot change the detail numbers to match the Section name because they would now be duplicate Detail numbers.

@Anonymous you could type "Alt 030 in front or back of the sheet numbers to add a distinction between just 1 and "Alt 030 1".  This would allow the duplicated section naming for sections more than one "1" or "2" on the same sheet.  The "Alt 030" portion does display with the number, but it may leave a slight spacing at the front of the 1, or 2, etc.   Why would you not just specifiy each of the 4 elements uniquely with the first letter of the type?  E.g.  Base with B, B1, B2; then Column with   C, C1, C2, etc...?
