Create Model in Robot Structural Analysis and after that sending to Revit

Hello,

I would like to create the model at first in robot structural analysis because it is easier for me to define true connections on the nodal points. And after that I would like to import it into Revit or rather send it vom Robot to Revit.

I tried different ways and posibillities, but none of them worked --> Revit won't import that model which was created first with robot. The error which is given tells me: "Unbekannter Fehler des Programms", which means 'unknown error of the program'. The other way around works, but isn't the right way for our needs.

I'm looking forward to your responses and your experiences.

Thank you!

Do you have the Robot Structural Analysis Link installed in Revit?

What versions of Revit and Robot are you using?

Are they both up to date? - (check for any updates)

There are new tools for creating the analytical model in Revit for 2023

Thank you for the quick answer.

So I guess the connection between these two programs should work in bouth directions not depending on which program I started modelling?

I have Revit 2021 and Robot Structural Analysis Professional 2021 installed on my PC. I don't think, that there are a updates to make.

If I start the modelling in Revit, the export/sending to Robot works. That should mean, that the Robot-Link should be installed. Or are there any further plug- or add-ins available?

It should work in both directions, I have had it in the past where it didn't work and I needed an update on one of them. The Robot Structural Analysis Link is all you need.

The new tools in Revit 2023 allow you to create the analytical model without the physical model.

Can you create the physical model from the analytical model?

To be honest Revit 2023 only came out 2 days ago, and I have not tested how it works yet.

I'm afraid that:

1. It is possible to produce the analytical model from the physical model, but not the other way around.

2. Steel Connection Details can no longer be transferred from robot to revit.

I have just done a test with Robot 2022 (35.0.1.8274) to Revit 2022.1.1 using Robot link (in Revit) and it worked fine, it brought a model created in Robot in to a blank project in Revit. So it should work for you.

Now I'm working with the new versions Revit 2022.1 and Robot Structural Analysis Professional 2022 and still it's not working.

Do you have other ideas what the problem could be?
