Cant cut any objects using void forms (Revit 2024)

Hi,

Im having trouble creating void forms to cut a slab in Revit 2024. As you can see above, I have created a void that goes through a slab/wall and get the same error every time, that there is "no solid geometry to cut". I originally wanted this to cut just the slab, which is sloped, as you can see by the solid mass on the right hand side, but since then I have been just trying to cut ANYTHING at all to see where im going wrong. I cant get anything to cut whatsoever. I have tried changing it to solid and then back to void, I have tried deleting the elements and creating new slabs.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks,

while still in the Void tool, use the Cut option to tell it what you want to Cut.

Thanks a lot for the response, sadly I am still having issues, when in the massing tool I've created the void and hit cut, then clicked the void and it wont allow me to select anything else after that. I've just tried creating a bog standard slab, with no slope, and i cant select that to cut either.

I cant upload the file due to sensitivity issues on the project unfortunately. I think what im going to have to do is try and model it as a floor instead of a slab and then adjust the sub elements - although im not sure if I'll be able to get it to stay the correct depth after i've cut a chunk out of it...

we have the same issues in with projects in my office too. Can you recreate the issue in a blank file with just the effected elements and upload that?

Sorry, I just queried it and apparently I cant do that either.... looks like a lost cause sadly!

Unless you happen to know how i can cut this section of a slab out?

unfortunately without seeing your file, I'm not sure why its not cutting. the example I showed in my video used Structural Walls and a Structural Slab. both were able to be cut. only other reason why it wouldn't cut that I can think of is if it was in a Link.

Sorry 😕....
