can you put bolts through a timber beam?

Hi all, 

 

can you put bolts through a timber beam?

 

at the moment i am trying to put a bolt through a timber member and a steel plate it doesn't work.

This is due to model behaviour of the element itself and the Bolts Tool  needs it to be Steel

If you edit and change the Timber Beam Family from Wood to Steel is works as expected
