can you assign a material to a structural beam family?

Can you assign a structural material to a beam family/type

Currently i have to change the material in the properties panel each time i draw the beam. 

Can you assign a material to the beam like you do with every other element in Revit?

Just edit the family and add the material in the Family Types dialog.
