4D BIM

Hello,
I want to ask in which of Revit products it is possible to make 4D BIM models? In what formats are they? Do they have georeference?

Navisworks.

Files are NWD

final product can be a simulation video

yes they are georeferenced

But to be clear, Navisworks is not a modelling software. You model in Revit or Civil 3D or whatever product and import the models to Navisworks to proceed with 4D works.

"4D" is not just one software. the "4"D typically refers to Time and the scheduling information of the 3D design components. We haven't done a lot of 4D in my office yet, but this is how I understand it.

  • Revit is your modeling tool where you can tell the items what phase they are built in,\
  • programs like MS Project can be used by project managers for managing project schedules
    • I believe some of this can be done in BIM360 suite of tools as well.
  • Navisworks Can be used to visualize and simulate the 4D of the project as @MostafaElashmawy  said.
    • MS Project can interface with Navisworks to import the project schedule

Thank you 😉

Ok, so the 3D model (from Revit or Civil 3D) will have information about coordinate system?
