Structural Connection Issue

I'm trying to attach structural connections to my beams but they wont work. This is the error I receive "A corresponding Shortening modifier for the Start/End extension Geometric position parameters was created. Start/End extension Geometric position parameters will not be available anymore.". This is for the beams that I changed the section shape and added structural section geometry to (I changed the section shape and added structural section geometry on the W27x84 and the W10x49).

I changed the section shape and added structural section geometry based on another post but it didn't seem to work (or I did it wrong).

Got this error when trying to attach the project file, so I attached some images instead, if you need something else just let me know . "The attachment's project with structural connection issue.rte content type (application/octet-stream) does not match its file extension and has been removed."

Hi @Anonymous

This warning message that pops up can you click ok on it to continue modelling?

When you apply a connection or any element from the steel tab in Revit some standard revit functionality such as cutbacks, groups, assemblies are no longer available, see the following helppage for more information - https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit-products/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2020/ENU/Revit-Model/files/GUID-8381A08F-CBCD-4215-AB36-82648C07B8F6-htm.html

The warning message you are getting is shown in the help page above, as its a warning message not an error you should be able to continue modelling as this is the current intended behaviour of adding a steel connection

I can click off of and and continue but nothing happens, clicking on the beam, it tells me the connection failed. Also right after trying, it offset the beam and column for some reason.

I guess I'm also confused on how to continue, based on the videos I watched all I had to do was go to steel, connection, choose what kind of connection and the beams I wanted to connect then press enter. When I tried, it offset the beam and showed the error.

Attached is how the beams looked before I tried to add a connection, in my other image you can see how the beam was offset and clipped through the bar joist.
