unhide when reveal hidden elements unavailable?

IN REVIT 2017.2, user hid elements in a 3d view and now there are hidden for one level in the file, but only in RCP views, plan views are not impacted, other 3d views not impacted, all other levels not impacted, just one.

Have researched and tried other fixes on the forum and I am never given the option to unhide elements or categories (Always grayed out), but see all of the hidden elements and the linked model when I toggle Reveal Hidden.

Any tips?

Thanks,

Jeffrey

are any of those views using view templates or filters?

is there any Phasing in the model, are all views the same Phase?

check those first.

There is no phasing in the model - all are set to New Construction.

Yes, using a view template on all RCPS, but clearing it to none or back to arch RCP or changing discipline makes no difference, everything in view still hidden.

Thanks,

Jeffrey

view range issues?

just 1 view?

create a new view confirm all is good, if it is not too much work copy all annotation notes etc to the new view rename the views

view 1 (bad view) add an X to the name

rename the new good view to the same name as the old (bad view) minus the X

I know it is only a band-aid but it is odd behaviour.

Do you have any View Filters in that View?  Reveal Hidden Elements can't reveal things hidden via Filters.

I already deleted the old view and created a new one from scratch and there is no change, creating an RCP for that one level shows a view with a blank screen - everything is hidden.  No problem creating new RCPs for other levels or Plan views for the same level.

The main issue is that I cannot create a good view, I would gladly start over with view if I could get any content to show.  I have also tried setting underlay to any other options, check view depth clipping, messed with view range, and cleared and reset and confirmed it isn't a crop view setting.

When I toggle Reveal Hidden - everything is there, but cannot unhide it.

And no, no view filters, that area is empty when I hit VG.

are you dealing with an Architectural Linked model?

are your levels aligned to the linked model (copy Monitor)?

open an elevation view - do you see the Architects levels?

do you see your levels, do they match?

kadmonkee,

Yes to all those questions - no pending coordination, all levels are copied and monitored and are shown at same level in sections.

Well...I wish I could tell you what I did exactly - but it shows now.  I decided to mess with view templates and applied a couple with no success, then back to none, and then used the view template that I am using with all of my other RCPS and now it shows.

So...Solved with no real solution...confidence building isn't it?

Thanks for your help!

sometimes just toggling back and forth fixes things

glad you got it back
