Two commands in one "button"?

I wonder if I can create a "routine" that will install a duct accessory and then immediately install the annotation needed to indicate it is a duct smoke detector.

I had several of these types of commands when I used AutoCAD a million years ago and they were awesome.

I haven't tried doing any sort of customization in Revit.... ever so I may be using the wrong terminology, but any help would be appreciated.

Unfortunately, Tag On Placement seems to only be available for Equipment, Fixtures, and Devices. It would be neat if this functionality was eventually extended to Accessories.

Tag By Category can be assigned to a keyboard shortcut, but it won't be a single-click process as you're describing.

If you use an annotation symbol in lieu of a Tag (like a 'DSD' label embedded in the duct section), that can be added to the accessory family file directly. You won't have as much controllability over its location relative to the accessory, but that would get you closer to a one-click solution.

Thank you for the response!  I had a feeling I wouldn't be able to do what I wanted. It was worth a shot asking though!
