Textparameter like comment for any family

Hi,

I'm working on an office building of the "Shell&Core" type. 

Basically we have to split the project in two subprojects: one is "basic fit-out" , the second is "tenant fit-out" (I have no idea if this is the right way of calling this in english, I'm not a native speaker sorry).

We also have to first present drawings in which only the "basic fit-out" should be displayed. In the meanwhile, we drew also parts of the "tenant fit-out" project. 

Our first way of not showing the "tenant" part on a drawing, would be to write in comment "tenant" and then hide it throught filters. I find this solution suboptimal, because we use comments also for, well, comments.

Is there a way to create a parameter like "comment" or "mark" that would apply to all the families in the project?

Why not use Phases? e.g.:

Phase 1 Shell

Phase 2 Landlord Fit-out

Phase 3 Tenant Fit-out

Or, yes you can create your own text parameter as a shared parameter or project parameter and associate it to whatever family categories you want.

Or you could use Worksets.

Personally though I would use Phases - that's what they are for.

Thanks, I used a "yes/no" shared Parameter in the end.

I could have used phases, unfortunately that was our first project in Revit and we knew little to no feautures of it. Introducing phases a this point (we deliver in two month our last review from a project that started in 2018) would be too time consuming (i would have to figure out they work, implement, dont make any errors etc.)!

I will keep it in mind for the next project 😉
